School Implementation Options

Some tools and implementation options described on this page may not be available during the beta release.

Launch Month is designed to provide students with structured support as they move from high school into college, career training, registered apprenticeship, employment, military service, or other postsecondary opportunities. Schools have flexibility to determine how those supports are delivered based on their schedules, staffing, existing advising structures, and community partnerships.

In the Learning Center, you will find links to toolkits to help you map out your Launch activities, engage your community and alumni and differentiate advising supports for students.

Common Elements Across Implementation

Regardless of the implementation approach, each school should work toward a common Launch Month framework that includes:

  • Clear postsecondary milestones for students;
  • Turnkey curriculum, activities, and implementation resources;
  • Support for college, financial aid, apprenticeship, workforce, military, and other postsecondary pathways;
  • Defined roles for counselors, teachers, administrators, families, and partners;
  • Access to the AI Navigation Tool as a resource for educators and other trusted adults;
  • Targeted support for students who need additional assistance; and
  • Data and feedback that allow schools to understand participation, identify gaps, and continuously improve implementation.

Tools to Implement Launch Month

Launch Month Student Tracker

Use Three Simple Statuses

To make the tracker immediately useful, use a very simple tracking system:

🟢 GREEN — On Track
Student has a clear postsecondary plan and is completing the milestones associated with that plan.

🟡 YELLOW — Action Needed
Student has a plan, but one or more important steps remain incomplete.

🔴 RED — Priority Support
Student is undecided, does not have a viable postsecondary plan, has made limited progress, or has a significant unresolved barrier.

Weekly Counselor Dashboard

Consider a school-level dashboard to help reduce the information into about 10 numbers:

Weekly Staff Routine

The operating routine can be just as turnkey:

Monday: Update student milestone data →

Tuesday: Dashboard identifies Yellow/Red students →

Wednesday–Thursday: Counselors, advisors, volunteers, and partners provide targeted support →

Friday: Update status and assign unresolved follow-ups.

This keeps Launch Month from becoming a data-collection exercise. The tracker tells staff which students need help, what they need help with, and who is responsible for the next action.
